Workplace exposure standards consultation RIS opens
The standards for workplace exposure to hazardous chemicals and substances under model Work Health and Safety laws are now open for consultation.
Safe Work Australia’s consultation regulation impact statement (RIS) aims to determine the impact of, and best way to implement, an update to Australia’s workplace exposure standard framework.
Submissions are welcomed from PCBUs (eg, employers), workers, regulators, government departments, unions, members of the public and other parties that have an interest in, or use, store, handle, generate or dispose of hazardous chemicals or substances that can become airborne.
The consultation period will close at 11.59 pm on 13 September 2018. To find out more, including to access the consultation RIS and make a submission, visit the consultation platform, Engage. For more information on workplace exposure standards for chemicals, visit the Safe Work Australia website.
