Report: Workers compensation arrangements in Australia and New Zealand

Safe Work Australia (SWA) has released its ‘Comparison of Workers’ Compensation Arrangements in Australia and New Zealand 2025’ report. Marking its 30th edition, the report compares workers compensation arrangements and differences between schemes in the two countries as at 31 December 2025.

Key features compared in the report include:

  • benefits
  • coverage
  • return to work provisions
  • self-insurer arrangements, and
  • scheme administrative and funding arrangements.
