WA wastewater treatment plant death under investigation

A worker has died at the Water Corporation's Woodman Point Wastewater Treatment Plant in Munster, according to a media statement issued by WA Commerce and Industrial Relations Minister Bill Johnston MLA.

WorkSafe WA inspectors travelled to the site to carry out an investigation and interview witnesses.

WorkSafe thoroughly investigates serious work-related injuries and deaths in Western Australia with a view to preventing future incidents of a similar nature.

"I'm saddened by the news of the fatality this morning and send my condolences to the victim's family and friends," said Johnston.

"The safety of workers is one of the McGowan government's highest priorities.

"We will investigate this matter further to find out exactly what happened and how it can be prevented in the future."
