Sydney turns out for safety

The Sydney Showground has been abuzz the last few days with industry professionals checking out the latest in technology, knowledge and innovation for The Safety Show Sydney, produced by Informa Exhibitions.

Despite uncertainty in the business community and an election less than a week away, thousands of companies and employees have attended the show, demonstrating that keeping workers and workplaces safe remains at the top of the business agenda.

This comes as no surprise to Event Director Tony Francis. “This is my tenth year producing The Safety Show Sydney and it’s great to see visitor numbers remaining as buoyant as ever, especially in times tougher than they have been.

“This is great news for the business of safety. We have seen many new companies and innovative, clever new products entering the marketplace at The Safety Show Sydney and an equal show of interested customers eager to get informed and updated on what’s available and what’s new,” he says.

Judges awarded the Best Stand 18 m2 & Under to first aid training service provider Premium Health. Workplace Access & Safety was awarded Best Stand Over 18 m2 and Best Stand by a New Exhibitor was presented to Gaye Cameron & Associates.

Starting from 2014, all shows across Australia will be known as Safety In Action. One major three-day show will run in September each year, alternating between Sydney and Melbourne. Shows in Perth and Brisbane will be held in June and April across alternating years and the newly added 2-day show in Darwin, set to commence in March 2014, is planned to be held every four years.
