National Safe Work Month calls for action in its final week
With the theme ‘For all: Action across all workplaces’, the final week of this year’s National Safe Work Month encourages workplaces to turn the month’s conversations into actions that create lasting change — to maintain momentum and ensure WHS remains a priority throughout the year.
“Over the past month, workplaces across Australia have been encouraged to reflect on why WHS matters, identify health risks, consider the long-term impacts of work-related harm and explore ways to support workers now and into the future,” Safe Work Australia said.
“Now is the time to take stock of what has been learned and identify practical improvements to carry forward. The final activities in the National Safe Work Month activity kit can help workplaces reflect on key discussions, review commitments made throughout the month and identify meaningful actions that extend beyond October.
“Whether it’s improving a process, strengthening consultation, addressing a workplace risk or enhancing support for workers, even small actions can contribute to safer and healthier work.
“Every conversation about WHS has the potential to drive positive change. By turning discussion into action, workplaces can help create safer and healthier work for all, for life.”
