Guide to the Model Work Health and Safety Act released
Safe Work Australia has published a Guide to the Model Work Health and Safety Act to help people better understand their health and safety duties and rights at work.
The guide covers basic principles (such as ‘reasonably practicable’), duties (including PCBUs, officers, workers and volunteers), incident notification, consultation with workers, representation of workers, WHS entry permit holders, the regulator, offences and penalties.
The guide is an overview of the Model WHS Act and is not intended to be read in place of the Act.
