Farmers receive free health checks
A free health and lifestyle assessment service has been provided to Victorian farmers and agricultural workers.
This was part of an initiative by National Centre for Farmer Health and Agriculture Victoria.
The two organisations partnered up in an effort to check on the health of farm and agricultural workers at Wimmera Field Days on 5-7 March 2019.
Taking just 20 minutes, the farmer health assessments included a lifestyle survey covering health behaviours, farm practices and social and emotional wellbeing. Participants also had their cholesterol, blood glucose, blood pressure, BMI and diabetes risk measured, and their eyesight tested.
