The Summit 888 digital video surveillance system uses enhanced H.264 digital compression, picture quality and storage capacity that is an improvement over MPEG systems.

Key operational features include information bar, control bar, online help and Windows XP standard CD burning features. The Summit can be reconfigured and is expandable from 4 to 32 channels.

The Summit 888 has been designed to give the latest features on H.264 compression, make it easy to operate by non technical operators, operate on Windows XP/2000, easy to archive to CD/DVD/memory stick, easy to network and remote view, save storage hard disk space by 30%, enhance picture quality over MPEG-4 systems by 30% and allows for different card manufacturer compatibility. Features include real-time recorder - 25 fps per camera, built-in watchdog, uses Windows XP CD burning features - no external software is required for recording or viewing. Modular expansible storage capacity, modular building block configuration (4-32 channels), synchronised audio on each channel, variable selectable frame rate on each channel, dynamic frame rate on each channel, variable audio compression on each channel, real-time SNAP photo, quick search, all controls dragable and switchable, 30% better compression and a 1-16 channel playback.
