Portable weld fume, dust and smoke filter for workplaces

Donaldson Australasia has re-released two workplace safety technologies for fume collection to effectively extract welding fume, smoke and grinding dust from a worker's breathing zone.

Easy-Trunk and Porta-Trunk are both mobile units. The Porta-Trunk suits on-site applications and is fitted with a static filter system and a hinged door for easy filter maintenance access.

The Easy-Trunk features a built-in pulse filter cleaning system allowing filter cleansing at the push of a button with a blast of compressed air.

Operating controls are conveniently located on the hood of the extraction arms of each unit. The company's patented Nanofibre filter technology provides both the Porta-Trunk and Easy-Trunk with longer filter life and an exceptionally high filtration efficiency of 99.999+% on 0.5 µm dust particles.

Both collectors are 'plug and go', easily fit through standard doorways and feature as standard the following technologies:

  • Ultra-Web FR (fire-retardant) filter cartridges
  • a 1.5 hp motor
  • low operating noise levels of 70 and 75 dB(A) respectively
  • Flex-Trunk extraction arm which is seven feet long (2.13 metres)
  • Optional hood-mounted light
  • 10-year warranty

As an additional equipment option the Flex-Trunk extraction arm is also available in a 10-foot length.
