The Pedestrian Alert Warning System is designed to notify both the vehicle operator and pedestrian that they are within close proximity to each other.

The system operates on an RF (radio frequency) communications system. Both the pager unit (pedestrian) and the fixed unit (vehicle) are tuned to specifically listen for each other. When either device hears the transmitted frequency of the other, the pager unit starts to vibrate/beep, and the fixed unit starts to beep and flash a highly visible LED.

The fixed unit (vehicle) is also capable of being set to notify the operator when another vehicle is in close proximity. The function can be set to beep and flash LED, flash LED only, or disabled altogether depending on requirements.
