Updated code for anchor, lifeline and rail installations

The WAHA has released a revised Version 1A of the industry code for anchor, lifeline and rail installations.

This follows on from the release of the ‘Industry Code’ for the installation of fall protection anchors, lifelines and rail systems at the Workplace Heath & Safety Show in Melbourne on 24 May 2018.

The revised version of the document corrects typographical errors and clarifies some technical content.

The code was developed to provide examples of best practice and general advice to industry on the safe principles of design, through to installation and recertification of fall protection systems.

The updates proposed by a number of members were important enough for the WAHA to issue an updated version, rather than wait for a reissue in 12 months time.

“The release of the Industry Code has been very well received by members and the public more broadly,” said Michael Biddle, Chairman of the WAHA.

“Although we were going to complete an annual review of this publication, we felt it important to make the changes sooner to avoid potential confusion arising from some of the wording published in the original document.”

The document has been updated and reissued, and is available free of charge, downloadable from the WAHA website from 16 July 2018.
