Model WHS laws to be critiqued by public consultation

A public consultation has been opened by Safe Work Australia to examine how model WHS laws are working in practice.

The review will examine whether the laws are achieving the objects stated in the model WHS Act or if they have resulted in unintended consequences.

Marie Boland is leading the review and would like to hear from everyone about:

  • What is working and why;
  • Whether it will continue to work in the future;
  • What doesn’t work and why; and
  • What could be done to make it work.

There are various ways people can provide their feedback, views and experiences, including participating in discussion forums and making a submission. A discussion paper is available to help inform the feedback.

Written submissions can be made until Friday, 13 April 2018.

Read more about the review and how to share feedback on the Safe Work Australia review web page.
