A man has been found dead in a dry dam on a property in East Gippsland.
It is believed that the 28-year-old was working alone to excavate a trench at the base of the dam, when it collapsed on him late on Sunday, 7 April.
He was buried in the soil and found dead at the scene the following day.
WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the death, which occurred on a farm at Gelantipy, about 50 km north of Buchan.
The fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to eight, which is one less than at the same time last year.
