Logging onto Safety: Updated Augmented Reality Safety Guide for Forestry Workers

Safety is and will always be a critical and number one priority no matter what industry you work in. For industries such as Forestry, however, it becomes even more significant when the rate of injury and fatality ranks second highest in the country. According to Safe Work Australia, the preliminary deaths year-to-date sit at 19. The industry can be hazardous, and extra care must be taken.

Hazards range from manual tasks, extreme weather conditions, exposure to sunlight and slips, trips and falls, to name a few. It is the responsibility of the Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) that workers and other persons are not exposed to health and safety risks arising from the activities of their business. Workers too have a responsibility to ensure they are performing safe work practices and not causing harm to those around them.

Regularly revising key safety issues helps to create a safety culture amongst workers by having safety remain top-of-mind in a bid to reduce injury and fatality wherever possible.
