Conveyor belt entanglement kills worker at pipeworks

A worker has been killed after he was caught in a conveyor belt at a concrete pipe manufacturing plant at Shepparton.

It is believed the 25-year-old man was performing cleaning duties when he became entangled in the conveyor belt, at about 12.40 pm on Friday, 21 September.

WorkSafe Victoria is currently investigating.

The incident brings the number of workplace fatalities for the year to 19, which is the same as at this time last year.
