Applications to new return to work services panel now open

Medical and allied health professionals are being invited to apply for a position on WorkCover Queensland’s (WorkCover Qld) new return to work (RTW) services panel.

Accredited exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, rehabilitation counsellors, social workers and vocational placement providers can submit a tender to become part of the panel — which will be refreshed in late February 2020 — until 2 pm AEST Friday, 6 September 2019. The panel will provide services for three years with two one-year options to extend.

WorkCover Qld opened the last tender in September 2014 when it transitioned from appointing suppliers via a pre-qualification process to the panel arrangement — reducing the number of suppliers WorkCover Qld needed to manage and improving its ability to monitor supplier performance.

According to WorkCover Qld, the tender aims to review the RTW structure to ensure it still meets their requirements, review and update service level standards and categories of service, and ensure adequate coverage for all categories throughout the state. Categories include: RTW same employer, new employer, psychological injury and facilitation.

No existing panel positions will be carried over and current suppliers will need to reapply if they want to continue providing services for WorkCover Qld.

More information on the tender can be found via the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland or Queensland Government QTenders websites.
