Working Together to Prioritise Safety

National Guide to Public Works and Services Safety 2017/18 – Released

Workers, visitors and pedestrians are all susceptible to a number of hazards within the public works and services industry, and without proper safety precautions and training, injuries can occur. With the aim of ensuring health and safety is a priority, Pro-Visual Publishing, alongside the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia, has released the 2017/18 edition of the National Guide to Public Works and Services Safety.

This year, the guide covers four key areas:

  • Alcohol and drug management.
  • Undertaking work near underground assets.
  • Asbestos risk management.
  • Definition of a Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) and their responsibilities.

The Augmented Reality (AR) components of the guide also provide a window to further resources and information, which users can access by simply scanning over any AR capable content using the free Pro-Vis AR app. With this knowledge and valuable information at hand, workers can work together to manage key issues that can affect all involved in the public works and services industry.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the National Guide to Public Works & Services Safety 2017/18. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.” – John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
