Urge for Body Repairers to Take Caution with Hazardous Chemicals

Body repairers are exposed to a variety of different chemicals on a daily basis. Exposure to hazardous chemicals is a significant risk in spray-painting and powder coating activities, including during work, storage, clean up and disposal. Long-term health effects of exposure to hazardous chemicals is a key issue that should be reinforced. Pro-Visual Publishing in partnership with the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (IAME), the Australian Autoglass Industry Alliance (AAIA) and the Australian Association of Progressive Repairers (AAPR), has released the 2018/19 edition of the Body Repairers Guide to Workplace Safety.

Along with hazardous chemicals, additional key topics are also explored including noise levels, typical noise sources and information regarding the exposure standard and measures to control noise, developing a safety management system, safety guidelines and personal protective equipment, manual handling as well as spray-painting in spray booths and types of spray booths.

Once again, Pro-Visual Publishing is pleased to incorporate Augmented Reality (AR) into the Guide, allowing it to combine both print and digital to create a more interactive user experience. By simply downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app and scanning over any AR capable content on the Guide, users are connected to further safety resources instantly.

“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the Body Repairers Guide to Workplace Safety 2018/19. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge” – John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
