Take the reins and make safety your priority

Horses which are healthy, kept in a good environment, well handled and used in an appropriate manner are less likely to be a danger to people. As a result it is vital that horse staff meet their obligations for the health and safety of horses, and ensure clients interacting with their horses learn appropriate care and safety requirements.

Pro-Visual Publishing, in collaboration with Horse Safety Australia, is excited to announce the release of the first edition of the Equine Industry Guide to Safety 2017/18, which is aimed at spreading awareness of key issues that can affect the health and safety of horses, horse staff and their clients. Displaying the Guide in horse facilities and equestrian centres across Australia will serve as a constant visual reminder of the importance of ensuring health and safety of all involved in the industry.

Topics featured within the Guide include:

  • Safe procedures when working with clients who ride or handle horses.
  • Health and humane treatment of horses.
  • Coordinating riding program with total facility and program.
  • Horse staff code of ethics.

The Guide also features Augmented Reality (AR) components that provide a window to further resources and information, which users can access by simply scanning over any AR capable content using the free Pro-Vis AR app.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Equine Industry Guide to Safety 2017/18. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.” — John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
