Staying on top of Emergency Plans

Facility managers have a responsibility of ensuring that their workplace remains safe, and where possible, minimize the occurrence of health and safety risks to their employees that may arise from the business. To help support facility managers in the work place, Pro-Visual Publishing have proudly released their 2018/19 edition of the Augmented Reality (AR) Facilities Managers Guide to Workplace Safety.

This year’s guide touches on important work place health and safety issues facility managers are faced with on a daily basis. Emergency plans are one of the main issues detailed in the Guide, providing information on evacuation procedures, what to include and the types of emergencies one might be involved in.

In addition to emergency plans, information on the danger associated with exploding batteries is also explored as well as asbestos in buildings. Many are aware that asbestos is a highly hazardous material used in old buildings, but some might not know that it can also be found in rainwater pipes as well as fire blankets. To assist managers on asbestos knowledge, information on how to control the risks and implement an asbestos management plan are identified in the Guide.

The Guide once again features AR, whereby facility managers and workers can interact with the Guide on a whole new digital level, contributing to a higher engagement rate and retention of information. By simply downloading the Free Pro-Vis AR app users can scan over any AR capable content with their smart device and view the information instantly.

“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the Facilities Managers Guide to Workplace Safety 2018/19. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.” — John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
