Sporting Amenities Industry: Don't Cut Corners in Safety

Ride-on mowers pose significant risks that can result in severe injury and is just one safety factor to consider while working in the Sporting Amenities Industry. On a daily basis, workers face hazards that can pose a threat to their health and safety if they aren't taken seriously, or the correct preventive measures aren’t in place. To help workers stay safe, Pro-Visual Publishing, in partnership with Sports Turf Associations and Turf Growers Associations across Australia, has released the latest edition of the Sporting Amenities Guide to Workplace Safety.

This year’s Guide features key safety information relevant to those working in the sporting amenities industry. Each key topic provides workers with safety facts and potential workplace hazards, acting as a guide to help implement safety into the workplace. This year’s topics include, ride-on mower safety, management of wash down from turf area, sunburn and heat stress, spray drift management and developing a safety management system.

Once again, Augmented Reality (AR) technology is used, allowing the Guide to become digitally interactive. By simply downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app and scanning over any AR capable content, workers can access further information straight to their smart device, which is aimed to contribute to workers engagement and retention of safety information.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Sporting Amenities Guide to Workplace Safety 2018/19. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.” – John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
