Safety in the Workplace: How much do you know?

Did you know that welding fumes are now listed as a class 1 carcinogenic? If this information is new to you, then it may be time to brush up on your workplace safety knowledge. Safety, awareness and informing workers of hazards are crucial to maintaining a safe working environment and keeping employees healthy. This year Pro-Visual Publishing, in partnership with Australian Industry Group (Ai Group), have proudly released the 2018 edition of the Metal Manufacturing Industry Guide to Safety, with interactive Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities.

The Guide informs workers of the hazardous effect of welding fumes and provides strategies to help reduce exposure — a vital piece of information to have in the workplace, especially for those who are unaware of the effects. It also explores the responsibility of employers and employees, machine guarding, and crane and hoist safety.

The AR aspect of the Guide creates an opportunity for users to experience and access further information by using the free Pro-Vis AR app. Content and information becomes interactive, contributing to a higher engagement rate, and promotes safety as a priority in the workplace and not something to take lightly.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Metal Manufacturing Industry Guide to Safety 2018. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.”
