Preventing Hazards in the Veterinary Industry

Veterinarians are subject to a unique range of workplace hazards on a daily basis, making it essential to keep health and safety top of mind. Pro-Visual Publishing, in partnership with the Australian Veterinarian Association and the Veterinary Business Group, has released the latest edition of the Veterinary Industry Guide to Workplace Safety, with interactive Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities.

The 2017/18 edition of the guide covers a range of areas specific to the industry, such as: employer and employee health and safety responsibilities; preventing zoonotic disease transmission; developing a Safety Management System (SMS); animal-handling techniques; and responsibilities regarding veterinary medicines, including special classification drugs. The topics covered will help to ensure all workers are well equipped when faced with these situations.

The incorporation of AR technology into the guide has created a space for interaction and a window to more resources relevant to the Veterinary Industry. By simply scanning over AR-capable content using the free Pro-Vis AR App, users can instantly access this additional information via their smart device.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Veterinary Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2017/18. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.”
