New Interactive Guide Serves as a Reminder for Laboratory Safety

Safety in the Laboratory Industry must be taken seriously as laboratories are full of many potential hazards that can cause serious harm if workers are negligent and fail to implement the correct safety precautions. The best way to prevent harm or injury is to ensure workers are regularly reviewing safety information and are constantly reminded on a daily basis of its importance.

To assist, Pro-Visual Publishing in partnership with Science Industry Australia (SIA) have compiled the most relevant and up-to-date safety topics and information for the laboratory industry and have now released their latest edition of the Laboratory Industry Guide to Safety 2018/19.

This year’s interactive Guide covers topics relevant to the laboratory industry including:

  • Burns
  • Inhalation
  • Fires and what to do in the event of one
  • Working alone after hours

In addition to the printed Guide, access to further resources is available to workers in an interactive way via Augmented Reality (AR). This is achieved by downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app and by simply scanning over any AR capable content using a smart device further resources will be displayed. This form of interactivity is engaging for laboratory managers and their employees during staff safety training and revising critical information.

“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the Laboratory Guide to Workplace Safety 2018/19. Their support has made it possible for the guide to be distributed free of charge.” – John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
