Australian Wine Industry Heating Up: How to stay safe

Australia’s harsh climate, especially during the summer months, is a reality wine producers constantly face. Heat stress is an under-estimated and unrecognised factor in the workplace, which contributed to 1,440 incidents being reported between 2012-13 of over exposure to heat. Pro-Visual Publishing, in partnership with Australian Vignerons and Wine Federation Australia, has released the latest edition of their interactive Wine Producers Guide to Safety to help curb this issue and more.

The Guide not only touches on heat stress but also provides information on explosive substances and flammable liquid risks, spray drift and GHS, which is mandatory in all states from 1 January 2017.

Displaying the Guide in wineries, vineyards and distilleries across Australia will serve as a constant visual reminder of the importance of health and safety and reducing potential hazards.

Digital interactivity is a main feature of this Guide aimed to increase engagement and retention of information, helping workers to stay safe and healthy in the workplace. By simply downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app, workers in the wine industry can use their smart device to gain access to further resources, adding to their interactive experience.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Wine Producers Guide to Safety 2018. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.” – John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
