Fluke 2AC VoltAlert AC non-contact tester

Monday, 13 June, 2011 | Supplied by: Fluke Australia Pty Ltd

The 2AC VoltAlert AC non-contact tester detects voltage and is claimed to provide safer, faster working conditions. The tester detects energised circuits and defective grounds, making it suitable as a first-line go/no-go tester for an electrician.

The tip of the pocket-sized tester will glow red when within close proximity of an outlet, terminal strip or power cord where voltage is present, although, even if the tester does not light, the circuit should be checked with a voltmeter.

The tester provides a quick and convenient tool to quickly check circuits and equipment to see if live voltage is present.

The tester includes an ‘always-on’ feature, allowing it to be ready to use at a moment’s notice. It utilises low-power circuitry to sustain battery life, which is typically greater than one year. It also has an innovative ‘battery-check’ button function to ensure battery and unit are in good condition when using the tester, although it is not intended as a substitute for checking the unit on a known live source before and after use.

Benefits include: voltage detection from 90 to 1000 VAC; always on, using special low power circuitry to sustain battery life and ensure the 2AC is always ready; category IV 1000 V overvoltage-rated product; integrated clip design, optimised for pocket storage; and uses two AAA batteries.
