Safety guidelines for ACT subcontractors
The ACT government has launched the Occupational Health Safety and Environment SubbyPack for the ACT building and construction Industry.
"The OHSE SubbyPack has been designed for use by self-employed persons, suppliers, service providers, contractors and subcontractors operating within the ACT building and construction industry," said Attorney General Simon Corbell.
"It provides ACT subcontractors with a nationally consistent resource for occupational health and safety and environmental risk management.
"The SubbyPack will assist subcontractors and small business with their OHSE performance by providing a generic approach to developing an OHSE management plan," he said.
The SubbyPack is split into two sections: the first section provides guidelines to help set up an OHSE management plan and the second section provides templates for policies and procedures.
"To ensure effective use of the SubbyPack, the Office of Regulatory Services will run an implementation program which promotes an awareness of safety management principles and provide advice on how to comply with legislative obligations outside simple requirements to document activities," said Corbell.
