Cut to Size Wearguard polycarbonates

Wearguard polycarbonates can be used in place of metals for protection against hazards, and are suitable for industrial machinery retrofits, updates and new technology installations. The polycarbonates are transparent and tough, facilitating high visibility of processes while protecting against hazards. Wearguard polycarbonates are IZOD impact tested and feature a high shock load resistance many times that of acrylic clear sheet. These properties make them suitable for see-through safety, indoor and outdoor glazing, and protective applications which until recent years required the use of metal or similar material.

The polycarbonates are useful for industries that may be employing new technology or introducing workplace environments centring on high-speed production, distribution and maintenance. Wearguard is claimed to be virtually unbreakable, even when exposed to robust interior industrial environments or to exterior security or protective challenges where it may be required to resist tough weather and vandalism. The polycarbonates can be used as viewing and protective panels and machine guard for safety in industry, and as cabin panels on heavy machinery and materials handling machinery, including forklift side screens. They can also be used as acoustic panels on expressways, as anti-vandal security glazing, as skylights and as sign faces. The polycarbonates can also be used in machine environments, as shatterproof boat windows, and as electrical guards and covers, meter covers, light covers and terminal blocks. They are also designed to be used for sight glass tubes for observation of industrial and process liquid levels.

Wearguard offers high heat resistance, with a melting point of 150°C. The material is not influenced by sudden changes in temperature and humidity, offers good dimensional stability and is readily machined by cutting, drilling or bending.
