Serstech 100 Indicator handheld raman spectrometer

The Serstech 100 Indicator handheld raman spectrometer is a lightweight (650 g), safe and easy-to-use raman spectrometer that can identify any solid or liquid chemical substance in seconds. Applications include police authorities, bomb squads, border control, hazmat teams, fire departments, CBRN readiness teams, prison authorities, pharmaceutical companies and environmental protection agencies.

The Serstech 100 Indicator handheld raman spectrometer is insensitive to water and the sample does not need to be removed from its container. The sample will not be destroyed or tampered with by the analysis. The unit has a rechargeable battery lasting more than 8 h and is quick and easy to decontaminate.

All libraries have been created or validated by Serstech chemists using the Serstech 100 Indicator. Every substance has relevant GHS symbols, CAS numbers and in many cases rich text explaining the properties of the substance. All information is easy to understand and provides instant feedback and decision support. Updates of software and substance libraries are included and users can create libraries and add their own substances using ChemDash software.

There are more than 14,000 substances in the libraries, including military and civilian explosives, IEDs, precursors and oxidants; narcotic and psychotropic substances from the UN Yellow and Green lists, including precursors; more than 2000 TICs (toxic industrial chemicals); chemical warfare agents such as blister, blood, nerve and choking agents; and pharmaceuticals, with a tailor-made library developed for and together with pharmaceutical companies.

Users can create reports and export measurements for further analysis, as well as manage user accounts and set user privileges to secure chain-of-evidence. It can be used on a PC or in the cloud. It has intuitive colours and symbols, and can be used by anyone. The user interface is designed to be used while wearing protective gear.

Features include laser excitation wavelength of 785 nm; laser output power with 3 levels available, max 300 mW; and max spectral range 400 to 2300 cm-1.
