WorkSafe Victoria's free workshop to help injured people return to work
WorkSafe Victoria will be holding a free workshop on Wednesday 25 May to help people responsible for helping injured workers return to work.
“The key is remembering that planning for a return to work must begin early and consider the sort of work that is possible even though it may not be the work that the person did in the past,” said Dorothy Frost, Director of WorkSafe’s Return to Work Division. “People running businesses often don’t understand what is required of them. They’re busy with day-to-day issues - keeping productivity up, getting orders, paying bills. In many cases, dealing with a workplace injury is new to them.”
Speakers at the workshop include Nan Austin, the National OHS and RTW Manager from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service; Wayne Bishop from Activetics, a workers compensation insurance agent; and Danielle Jacobs from WorkSafe’s Return to Work Division.
