WA businessman wins major safety award
The National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) has presented Dan Smetana, chairman of Joyce Corporation, with the Ian Chisholm Award.
The award recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual to occupational health and safety beyond their own workplace.
Smetana’s voluntary contribution to workplace safety issues has received acclaim from the National Safety Council.
Smetana is serving his second term as president of WA-based IFAP, an independent non-profit organisation which is responsible for training more than 12,000 people a year. He has been on the IFAP board for 17 years and has been a member of the board of the National Safety Council of Australia.
