Safety excellence recognised at national safety awards

The winners of the NSCA Foundation/GIO Workers Compensation 24th Annual National Safety Awards of Excellence have been announced.

These are Australia’s premier safety awards and the only national independent awards program. The program identifies organisations and people who contribute to the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees, as well as showing continuous improvement in their business performance.

Winners, highly commended and finalists were announced at the Awards Gala Luncheon held on 13 October 2016 at Four Points by Sheraton, Sydney.

The eight award categories are best continuous improvement of a WHS management system, best solution of a WHS risk, best WHS training program, best communication of a safety message, Ian Chisholm Award for best individual WHS achievement, best safety leadership program/initiative, best health and wellbeing program, and NSCA Foundation member of year.

Winners were News Corp Australia, Branach Manufacturing, Metropolitan Express Transport Services, University of Wollongong, Ausenco, Ergon Energy, Barwon Water, Silver Chain Group and Ansell Healthcare.
