Public comment open on draft Code of Practice: Construction Work
Safe Work Australia has released the revised draft Code of Practice: Construction Work for a six-week public comment period starting today.
The revised draft code includes guidance on housing construction work to make the existing code more accessible to the housing construction industry.
Additional changes to improve the overall clarity of the document have been made along with changes to the Safe Work Method Statement template for high-risk construction work to make it simpler to use.
The draft code is intended to be the first point of reference for a person carrying out any type of construction work. It covers information on the requirements relating to construction work under the model Work Health and Safety Regulations like work health and safety management plans and induction training, as well as guidance on the main hazards and risks in the construction industry.
Public comment for the revised draft Code of Practice: Construction Work closes on Wednesday, 2 October 2013 at 5 pm AEST. To view the revised draft code and make a submission, go to Safe Work Australia’s website.
