Plant registration and licensing featured on new website

Wednesday, 28 November, 2012

A web page has been created to help people understand the requirements for plant registration and licensing in the NSW mining industry.

The we bpage collates all available information and clearly explains:

  • the differences between design and item registration;
  • the types of plant that are classed as general-industry or mining-specific plant;
  • when plant should be registered with NSW Trade & Investment Mine Safety or WorkCover NSW;
  • which high risk activities in the coal industry require a licence;
  • the need to use ‘recognised service facilities’ before registering or renewing registration for diesel engine systems used in underground coal mines.

The web page also includes links to guidelines and application forms. It can be found on the NSW Trade & Investment Mine Safety website.
