Nominations open for Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards

Nominations have opened for the 2024 Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards, recognising and celebrating health and safety across Western Australian workplaces. Submissions are welcomed from individuals, associations, partnerships and companies, and other organisations. The nominations will close on 31 May 2024, with the winners to be announced at an awards ceremony in October during Safe Work Month.

Featuring five award categories, the Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards recognise outstanding solutions and innovations to specific problems across workplaces of all sizes, offering a great opportunity to share health and safety initiatives.

The award categories include the Work health and safety invention of the year, in recognition of the development of plant/equipment engineering and/or infrastructure to enhance health and safety. The Best solution to a work health and safety risk award recognises the innovation, implementation and/or design of systems or procedures to improve health and safety.

The Best intervention to address a psychosocial hazard in the workplace award recognises an organisation’s commitment to the prevention of psychological hazards in the workplace. The Leadership excellence award is presented to an organisation that has demonstrated its commitment to improving health and safety in the workplace. The final award category, the Health and safety representative of the year award, recognises an elected health and safety representative who has made a significant contribution and demonstrable difference to health and safety in the workplace.
