National safety awards

The National Safety Council of Australia and the Skilled Group invite entries from all people and organisations who believe they have excelled in the area of OHS and environment to the NSCA/Skilled Group National Safety Awards of Excellence.

The awards provide all industry sectors with an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to the health and welfare of its people.

The objectives of the awards are to recognise the high standards of work achieved by some organisations; encourage all organisations to set and achieve high standards; use the winning entries as examples of good OHS&E practices; and increase awareness of the NSCA's vision and commitment to safety.

Nomination categories include:

  • John Holland Construction OHS construction industry award;
  • Telstra Business Excellence through OHS&E management award;
  • Best implementation of a specific OHS management system;
  • Best Solution of an OHS specific workplace risk;
  • Best OHS training program;
  • NSCA member of the year.

One of the winners from these categories will be awarded the Skilled Group Award for Excellence in OHS. Entries close 1 August. The awards winners will be announced at a black-tie event in Sydney on 11 October.
