Melbourne Health charged after patient death

WorkSafe has brought three charges against Melbourne Health under section 23 (1) of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act on 7 June, in relation to a death on 23 September 2013.

WorkSafe alleges that Melbourne Health breached the OHS Act on three occasions when it failed to ensure, so far as was reasonably practicable, that a 75-year-old male patient was not exposed to health or safety risks rising from the conduct of its undertaking.

WorkSafe Victoria said no more information is available at this time.
