Man falls from roof, impaled on metal picket

A contractor has been killed after falling off a roof at a property north of Bendigo.

The man in his sixties was believed to have been working with another person on a verandah roof in Neilborough when he fell and was impaled on a metal picket.

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the incident.

The fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to 11 — two more than at the same time last year.
