Inaugural SafeWork NSW Commissioner to open WHS Show Sydney

Janet Schorer, the inaugural SafeWork NSW Commissioner, will officially open the Workplace Health & Safety Show Sydney, running 22–23 October at the Sydney Showground.

With the event designed to engage and support businesses, workers and WHS professionals across the state, SafeWork NSW has said it will have a stand near the main entrance (Stand FO2) where attendees can explore SafeWork NSW’s latest evidence-based programs and tools.

SafeWork NSW will also have the following sessions and side events:

Sessions

  • Panel: More Than Just Compliance — Why WHS Consultation Matters (Day 1, 9:30–10:10 am)
  • Presentation: Working Safely with Crystalline Silica (Day 1, 1:30–2:00 pm)
  • Presentation: Preventing Workplace Violence, Aggression & Sexual Harassment (Day 2, 11:00–11:30 am)

Side events (held upstairs in the Pearsons room)

Small Business Rebate workshops
  • Day 1 (22 Oct, 11:00–12:00 pm) — Introduction to WHS Advisory
  • Day 2 (23 Oct, 2:00–3:30 pm) — Construction Advisory
