How organisational culture impacts WHS performance

Wednesday, 15 October, 2014

Safe Work Australia has released a video that explores how an organisation’s culture impacts on safety and what people can do to shift it in the right direction.

‘Moving up the culture ladder’ is presented by Professor Patrick Hudson, Professor of Human Factors in Safety at the Delft University Technology, Netherlands, and CEO of Hudson Global Consultancy. The video has been released as part of Safe Work Australia’s Virtual Seminar Series.

“Organisations regularly think they are much higher up the culture ladder than they actually are. Just having reporting systems or communication strategies in place is not enough,” said Michelle Baxter, acting CEO of Safe Work Australia.

Aimed at anyone with an interest in good work health and safety practices, this video is available to view at www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au/vss.
