Fatigue management solution wins award
Fatigue management technology company Optalert has received an Australian Mining Prospect Award for its fatigue management technology.
Being awarded the Innovative Mining Solutions category award, the company won ahead of finalists including Caterpillar, Orica Mining Solutions and Invensys Operations Management.
The company’s entry consisted of its real-time fatigue management system that detects the early onset of operator drowsiness, to alert the driver before drowsiness takes hold.
Optalert’s acting CEO, James Walker, says that the win was also largely dependent on their ongoing support system.
“Optalert’s information-based approach provides objective information to both operators and management in two areas: fatigue risk management plans and the current state of alertness of an entire fleet in real time. There is really nothing else like it out there in fatigue management,” said Walker.
