Farm hand dies while tree felling

A farm hand has died while helping to fell trees on a Buxton property.

According to WorkSafe Victoria, the 59-year-old worker was found unresponsive near a tree that had been pushed over by a tractor around 11 am on 10 July 2019.

He was airlifted to Alfred Hospital with head injuries but died soon after.

WorkSafe Victoria is currently investigating the incident.

The fatality brings the number of Victorian workplace deaths this year to 14, two more than the same time last year.
