Implementing a WHS Management System

Many organisations fail in the implementation of an effective WHS management system due to poor consultation or lack of commitment.
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to be able to implement a well-functioning WHS Management System that meets all of the auditable criteria from AS/NZS 4801:2001. The framework for this course is based on the AS/NZS 4804 and the ISO 31000 standards, taking into account the Federal legislative WHS ACT and Regulation of 2011 as well as other relevant Acts and Codes. The methodology of this course will assist participants implement an auditable system against AS/NZS 4801:2001.
Participants will be provided with practical WHS tools, information and guidance notes on the implementation of AS/NZS 4804:2001 Occupational Health and Safety.

- Management and documentation of risk
- Implementing and embedding WHS policy

- Incident investigation, corrective and preventative action
- Audit and inspection
- WHS implementation and review timeframes

- Scan their immediate environment and determine their risk
- Consult with their workgroup and strategise roles and responsibilities
- Link their risk to industry and legislative requirements
- Determine suitable workplace health and safety and risk management policy, procedures and initiatives to systematically build an auditable system
- Project manage an implementation plan and use a management review cycle to gauge success
