The intelligent sensor technology of the Optrel Orion OSE welding helmet face shield automatically adjusts the shade level between DIN 9 to 13 depending on the measured light intensity of the arc; the user has the option of fine tuning or customising this automatic adjustment by +/- shade level.

The Optrel Orion OSE is suitable for all arc welding processes including shielded metal arc welding, MIG/MAG welding, high melting rate process, flux core arc welding and TIG welding. It is not suitable for laser and oxy-gas welding.

The Helios 9-13 ADF offers illumination of dark work areas. It has an integrated, long-life LED light technology. Its intelligent, patented deactivation of LEDs during welding is unique.

Special features include: operation and adjustments are easily accessible and mounted on the outside of the helmet, a delay switch which allows for adjustment of the dark to light switching time, shade level adjustment which allows for ±1 shade level correction and in 'manual' mode it allows adjustment of the shade level from DIN 9 to 13, manual/automatic mode switch. This sliding switch allows for selection of 'manual' or 'automatic' mode of operation, sensitivity adjustment and a curved cover lens made of durable polycarbonate and equipped with an elastic seal to eliminate negative effects caused by penetrating gases, smoke or particles.
