Speed and standstill monitors

Pilz's speed and standstill devices can monitor two axes independently under the direction of a PNOZmulti controller, which can be fitted with a maximum of four speed and standstill monitors.

Slow-moving parts can be acceptable under certain conditions, or power can remain connected if hazardous mechanisms are proven to be still. In this way, speed and standstill monitoring can simplify machine control and improve the efficiency of commissioning, production and maintenance.

The PNOZ ms1p meets the requirements of EN 12417 for machining centres and EN 12415 for lathes. Input signals can be received directly from proximity detectors or from incremental encoders, using the small PNOZ msi1p adapter.

Suitable for use with applications up to Category 3 of AS4024.1, the speed and standstill monitoring module can help to minimise downtime if, for example, it is required to run a machine at a reduced speed or to keep the power supply connected in the event of a machine guard being opened for maintenance or commissioning.
