Omron Electronics has released a sliding door guide to complement the use of door switches.

The D4NS-SK01 is a sliding door mechanism with a keyed attachment for the door. The actual door switch is mounted in the main body of the unit, which in turn is mounted on the frame. (Although designed for the D4NS safety-door switch series, the D4NS-SK01 can use any safety switch with the standard 300 mm square head.) The door itself has a keyed lever, which will fit tightly into the main unit.

When the door closes, the key lever will slide into the main unit before the safety switch is made. This will force the door to be properly aligned and prevent spurious triggering of the switch. A separate lever on the main unit must be activated to release the door.

The D4NS-SK01 system claims to have a mechanical durability rating of at least 20,000 operations.
