Roof fan

Tuesday, 29 July, 2003 | Supplied by: Fanquip

Fanquip has developed the Vertical Discharge Roof Fan to quickly expel unwanted, hot, or contaminated air through the roof at fast rates.

Able to be installed onto virtually any roof type, a series of this fan product can be strategically positioned to expel air from large premises within a short period of time.

As they are made from either aluminium or galvanised steel, the construction provides strength to maintain non-stop use while maintaining the benefits of the lightweight construction.

The fans are proofed against most weather conditions and can be installed at the construction stage of a building or retrofitted. To enable the fans to be mounted vertically at all times, Fanquip has upstands that suit the pitch of a roof and flashing is also available to waterproof the installation.

The units are supplied in fan diameters of 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and 1500 mm.

Motor speeds available are at 1440 rpm for the smallest diameters and are up to 720 rpm on the large units. On the smaller diameters, motor power is at 0.25 kW with steady increases as the diameters become larger to reach a 3.0 kW requirement on the largest (1500 mm) diameter fan.

Free air volume movement ranges from 740 L/s on the 300 mm fan to 19,000 L/s on the 1500 mm unit.

Models ranging from 300-600 mm are available in operating voltages of 240 or 415 V. Diameter of 800 mm or more are only supplied in 415 V types.
