Rescue training dummies - a realistic approach

Sunday, 17 September, 2006 | Supplied by: LifeTec Pty Ltd

The LifeTec Rescue Training Dummies are designed to be the most realistic replacement for the willing volunteer.

The product range includes 20 different model variants including:

General Purpose dummy, favoured by the height and confined space rescue trainers and the Emergency Services. Available in weights from 5kg to 70kg.

Hazmat dummy, which can be repeatedly doused in water during a chemical spillage or foul water rescue. Available in weights from 5kg to 70kg.

Water Rescue dummy for open water 'man overboard' or 'search and rescue'. It floats realistically with head and shoulders out of the water and the body angled at approximately 45 degrees below the water. Available in 20kg youth size and 40kg adult.

Flame Retardant dummy uses specialist materials designed for hot fire cell snatch rescue training and will withstand flash-over temperatures of > 1000 degrees.

Other speciality dummies include the Blast Casualty, with removable limbs to simulate events following an explosion. Impaled Casualty dummies can have a metal pole or wooden stake locked into the torso to simulate an impaled scenario such as a road traffic accident.

Supplied in Australia and New Zealand by LifeTec Pty Ltd and their state-based partners.
