Australian Safety Guarding has released its flexible and extensive range of pneumatic ISO spool monitored valves.

Suitable for use in all pneumatic safety applications, the units are designed with the objective of eliminating the exposure to workplace risks and hazards associated with pneumatic machinery. The range is capable of safely controlling and isolating pneumatic power, while fulfilling the widest range of needs in pneumatic energy control.

Features include suitability for use up to category 4 applications as per AS-4024 standards, standardised port pattern conforming to ISO 5599/1, four available ISO sizes signifying a wider range of flow rates, an array of assorted spool configurations 3/2 normally-closed or normally-open, 5/2 and 5/3 with either blocked or exhausted centres, single and double monitored valves, two available spool monitoring switch configurations, solenoid coils to suit operating voltage type and mounting on custom dual redundant safety blocks.

The units are created by integrating pneumatic ISO spool valves with positively driven safety switches that are directly operated by the valve spool via specially designed pneumatic end caps, thus enabling monitoring of the spool state and therefore valve operation.

Appropriate integration involves a dual redundant system (two valves in series) correctly connected, both pneumatically and electrically, to an approved safety relay. Consultation for appropriate pneumatic and electrical circuit design is also available.
