Multi-chamber baling

Orwak's multi-chamber baling concept allows several dry waste categories to be sorted and compacted at source. Originally developed for supermarkets the system allows for segregating cardboard, plastics, aluminium cans, etc, and baling it all simultaneously without downtime. Two, three or four chambers are assembled with an overhead power pack serving all compartments.

Available in two sizes, the Orwak 5070 model is manually operated and is powered by single-phase 240 V producing average 50 kg bales offloaded with a purpose-built bale trolley. It delivers 4 tonne of pressure during a 30 s hydraulic cycle occupying 1600 x 750 mm of floor space.

The larger 9020 type is driven by three-phase power and delivers 20 tonne featuring automatic 200 kg bale ejection. Bales are tied off using gummed poly strapping tape pre-lined in chamber cavities for safe and easy handling.

Operator safety measures include positive action micro switches on all hatches, uneven load protection, thermal overload and a unique door catch arrangement preventing unsafe procedures during unloading.
